Yuniesky Betancourt had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Detroit Wizards defeated the
Cincinnati Cougars by the score of 5 to 2 at Comerica Park.
Betancourt enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He clubbed a two-run home run
in the 2nd inning, doubled in the 5th inning, doubled which plated a run in
the 6th inning and ripped a base-knock in the 8th inning. Cincinnati was
out-hit by Detroit, 10 hits to 5.
Mike Pelfrey(9-10) got the win allowing 2 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings. Koji
Uehara gained credit for his 15th save. Jason Vargas(7-7) took the loss. He
pitched 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 7 hits and 1 walk.
