J.D. Drew had 4 hits and 5 RBI and Brett Anderson allowed Joe Maddon to rest
his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Tampa Bay Beer Bashers ballclub
embarrassed the Pittsburgh Soulkitchen by the count of 17 to 1.
Drew provided much of the offense. He doubled knocking in a run in the 1st
inning, lined a one-base hit in the 2nd inning, rifled a three-run blast in
the 6th inning and laced a single in the 7th inning. Tampa Bay bats were hot
in the 1st inning with 6 runs on 8 hits, the 6th inning when they had 5 runs
on 5 hits and the 8th inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 4 hits. Tampa
Bay managed 25 hits in their victory.
The winning pitcher was Anderson(5-9) who allowed 1 run for the game. Doug
Fister(6-8) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing 6
hits and no walks.
