Ernesto Frieri delivered 3 solid innings as the Texas Armadillos outscored the
Los Angeles Mustangs in 10 innings 1 to 0.
No runners had crossed home plate after the regulation nine. Finally, Texas
pulled the game out in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Miguel
Olivo slapped a single. Cliff Pennington followed, but he was set down on
strikes. Danny Valencia then singled. Dustin Pedroia was up next and he
banged out a single giving Texas the win much to the delight of the home town
crowd. For the game Texas out-hit Los Angeles 6 to 2.
The win went to Brian Wilson(4-2) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. The loss
was charged to Johnny Cueto(3-7). He allowed just 1 run and 5 hits in 9 and
2/3 innings.
