Derek Lowe recorded a complete game shutout and right fielder Shin-Soo Choo
knocked 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the spectacular Washington Mauraders
smashed the overmatched Cleveland Piledrivers, 14 to 0.
Choo had a big day with his bat. He cracked a two-run shot in the 1st inning,
slapped a base-hit bringing home two baserunners in the 7th inning and
cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 8th inning. Washington had
a total of 18 hits for the game.
It was the 4th shutout of the year for Lowe(13-10). Tommy Hunter(9-9) was
tagged with the loss. Washington now has a record of 87-41. Not able to get
much going in recent weeks, Cleveland is 2-8 of late and now has an overall
record of 64-70.
